Long Walk - Way Back (31 years a book in hand)

Readers Digest, True Stories of Great Escapes

Originally from Rogelio Constantino Lim (Uncle),

given  to Rogelio Gregorio Ortiz (My father)11-20-1979

to: Roger Peter and keith Paul Ortiz (Siblings) late 90's

to Roem Ortiz (me) 2008

I. Way Back the old days

This book has 506 amazing true stories of real gate crashing ,kamikaze actions, hole digging and under-the-table-planning one of my favorite is The Longest Walk the title describes it's length of the stories cause it's also the longest story on this collections of true escapes.

It's all about of a group of men (Political Prisoners) , walking 4,000 miles (6,437km) from Siberia to India in search for freedom,
My father, his 2Nd cousin , my brothers and me, couldn't imagine on how "The long walk" would fit on a film.

II. The Long walk Journey.

And yes after 31 years of having this book on our family tree. Rj Deopita My friend lend me his USB to copy a film. later I know, The Newmarket Films, Exclusive Film Distribution and Meteor Pictures finally made a good film for it. They In titled it "The Way Back" Directed by Peter Weir. but of course as we all know. Most of the books that were made into films weren't exactly the same as the original writer who wrote it. it was cut down into some important details only. but I'm grateful that I was able to experience a wonderful story from a book to the Pinilakang tabing (Big Screen). If only Tatay was still alive he would be the very first one who would rushed out and tell me to download the film.

wise people say“Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life.”

I would give this book to my son and he would give it to his son and generation by generation we the Ortiz would learn the same reading experience from this book.
